- Until now, there has always been a compromise between frequency and sensitivity when improving detector performance, because lower frequencies are more sensitive to larger gold nuggets and higher frequencies are more sensitive to smaller gold nuggets.
- When comparing the detectors, the three curves in the graph represent the ability of each detector to find small gold nuggets of a specific size, at the maximum depth possible. Most detectors will find very large nuggets directly below the surface, but the sensitivity of the detector to gold determines the number of smaller nuggets that will be recovered in difficult (noisy) ground at greater depths.
- Usually, the 18 kHz detector has a depth advantage over fragments greater than (or equal to) 1.0 g compared to the main mid-frequency detector, and the 71 kHz detector will have a depth advantage over nuggets smaller than (or equal to) 1.0 g. While the original gold monster uses a 45KHz average frequency and 24-bit high speed to process the signals. This basic combination greatly enhances gold sensitivity far beyond those of other VLF detectors on a wide range of particle sizes, without introducing excessive noise and false signals.
- The Gold Monster 1000 has also improved ferrous / nonferrous discrimination and copes better with conductive (salty) soils than higher frequency detectors, making it the perfect choice for maximizing your gold extraction.
- Reagent sensitivity comparisons are representative only. Actual performance will depend on chip size, detector settings and ground conditions.
